THE SANCTUARY

Little Oldies was founded by Erin Cullen. Erin has had dogs her whole life but didn’t know much about animal cruelty until she was in her thirties. She knew she wanted to do something about it, but wasn’t sure where to start. She began by adopting from rescues instead of purchasing from pet stores or online ads. She started volunteering at a shelter where she adopted Chloe, her third dog at the time, and she knew she wanted to help many more dogs! She went on to adopt three more dogs and although six dogs was a houseful, it was never overwhelming. She proved to herself that she was ready to embark on her dream of helping dogs and start this endeavor with her daughter, building the sanctuary into their home.

At the sanctuary, the dogs have a dedicated 500-square foot room with air conditioning, heated floors, and a fire place to cozy up to in the winter. The space has been furnished with the senior dogs in mind with lots of dog beds, steps leading up to the couch, and a dog door that opens to their own ramp and stairway leading to an enclosed area. They have access to an acre of fenced land to roam with supervision and another 13 acres for leashed walks. Medications are administered as needed. In the evenings, all residents gets a nighttime treat and they have access to the rest of the house. Little Oldies is dedicated to giving senior dogs the best life for the rest of their days.
